Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of managing the content of a web page or website to ensure that the site will appear on the first two pages of Google and other search directories. When someone searches for your product or service, this process is what gets you to the first two pages of a search.
The reason for SEO is to get more targeted traffic to your website, people who can become customers.
There are several key elements required to get top search engine (Google) rankings. One of them is knowing the exact phrases people are searching on. It does no good at all to be at the top if no one searches that phrase. This may seem obvious but, it is one of the most overlooked facts about SEO.
Any time you do a search on any word or phrase, some web site is #1 and another is #10 and another is #50 and #1000 and so on, AND there is a reason why each site is ranked where it is. It does not happen by chance.
