What is the best way to design a web site?

Ask 10 developers and you will get 10 answers. Ask 100 developers and you could start a pocket protector fight!

Each of the sites to the right was developed for a specific purpose and the actual look and feel is the result of my ideas and the clients input.

The answer is actually the answer to a different question. The important question is, "What is the purpose of the web site"?

The answer to that question will dictate the layout, the design and the elements employed.

My philosophy is to determine the exact purpose of the site, create a clean, fast- loading set of pages and to remove anything that doesn't serve the purpose of the site.

When we know who we are trying to reach and what they are looking for, the rest will fall into place. If search engine results are important, planning ahead really helps.

We meet in person and talk it through, that is the best way.
